<p>The tea room at Hill House Nursery is open for the season, and we’re so excited! Enjoy quintessential Britishness with their afternoon tea, and choice of cakes, soups and scones. Everything is freshly prepped and locally sourced wherever possible, meaning you’ll be stacking your plate higher than a Great British Bake Off showstopper! Their range of exotics and perennial climbers is scrummy too.</p>

<p>OK, so not really a garden centre as such, The Garden House was once the vicarage of Buckland Monachorum and now has a 10-acre garden you can visit for a fee. There’s also a free-to-enter plant centre with some unusual plants you won’t find in typical garden centres, plus a smaller selection grown on site. Staff are on hand for advice and love a horticultural challenge! There’s also a delightful café serving cakes, cream teas and light lunches, but you usually need garden entry to use it (except Nov–Dec).</p>

<p>Avon Mill has everything: a farm shop, deli and café, gift shop, art gallery, fashion boutique and even a personal fitness centre. There’s plenty of coastal homeware to freshen up your home for spring found in the Aloft store, and after all that shopping, rejuvenate with a tea and scone in the café, or a cardio session in the gym. (We know which one we’re picking.) There’s plenty of light bites to choose from, including sandwiches, jacket potatoes, and quiches.</p>

<p>What could be better than woodfired pizza on a spring afternoon? Add on Stokeley Farm Shop, and the answer is nothing. Stokeley serves up fresh pizzas with delicious toppings when it’s sunny, and you can even grab a crisp cider from the sister brewery next door which is hireable for events. Easter party, anyone?</p>

<p>Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city at Combe Garden Centre, just under a 30 min drive from Exeter city center. There is a huge selection of plants as well as a boutique shop, Velvet and Parade, which has a commitment to cruelty-free products. In The Kitchen, you can sample a selection of locally sourced treats. You must try the American pancakes in the café here. But, if you’re more savoury than sweet, treat yourself to the proper full English breakfast. Even a simple cup of tea with a cupcake is a lovely treat, whether you’re sunning it up on the park benches or cooling down in the barn-esque café area.</p>

<p>Named The Nation&#8217;s Favourite Public Garden in 2021, these 13-acre gardens make a fab family outing on a sunny spring day. For the green-fingered, the nursery at Burrow Farm is a treasure trove. After exploring, you can enjoy traditional Devon scones and cream tea in the conservatory or tea room, and take in the lovingly planted borders.</p>
