<p>This stylish three-bed cottage in a tranquil village close to Exeter is the latest stay from The Ley Arms, Kenn&#8217;s village pub. It joins their four beautiful dog-friendly boutique rooms and glamorous Cramwell cottage down the lane. Like their other stay options, it exudes opulence and luxury (and a private hot tub) thanks to unique antique furnishings, plush drapes and zebra print rugs. It&#8217;s a splash of the cosmopolitan in the countryside, with rolling Devon field views from your bedroom&#8217;s balcony. Bertie, the pub&#8217;s resident hound, is a real softie and sure to make your pooch welcome should you drop in for a cocktail. And you really should.</p>

<p>Five of the properties at this upmarket holiday cottage destination, set in 14 acres near Torquay, are dog-friendly and sleep up to ten people. We recently reviewed a <a href="https://devon.muddystilettos.co.uk/travel/uk/self-catering/review-farmhouse-compton-pool-farm-marldon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Muddy&#8217;s stay</a>, and stayed with the in-laws&#8217; border terrier, Luna, who loved the secure gated garden, off-lead walks around the lake and their 1.5 acre agility course. Four-legged guests are rewarded with their own doggy welcome box, plus a Mud Daddy, a handy portable shower to clean up after muddy walks to the dog-friendly local, The Church House Inn which is just down the road and has a lovely beer garden. The resident owners have a pooch too, always a sure sign they love their doggy guests.</p>

<p>While some holiday rentals put restrictions on breeds,&nbsp;Canine Cottages allow all shapes and sizes at their choice of nearly 9000 properties. Located all over the UK, each home is picked specially for their safe enclosed gardens, and dog-friendly extras. Their USP is the amount of dogs you can bring &#8211; I hear they even managed to find a suitable property for one brave holidayer&nbsp;who wanted to bring 12&nbsp;dogs, along for the trip! Don&#8217;t forget the the lead, as great walkies are guaranteed close by, and the website does brilliant advice on local dog-friendly eateries and day trips.</p>

<p>One for designer dogs &#8211; this topnotch collection of Devon Tourism Award winning treehouses, shepherd’s lodges and an iconic 1950s American Airstream, near Dartmouth, make dogs welcome with an arrival pack which includes a luxe Sophie Allport bed to sleep on. What&#8217;s more, when you&#8217;ve had enough of your stay&#8217;s all mod-cons &#8211; lazing in the hammock, lolling in the traditional wood-fired cedar hot tub, four of the local Dittisham pubs welcome dogs, including one right on the riverside. </p>

When it comes to walks, you have three miles of golden beach at Saunton Sands, just a few miles down the road and where pooches are welcome 365 days of the year. </p>

Head to Boringdon&#8217;s enchanted castle on the hill for a stay in a dog-friendly courtyard room, where they can revel in complementary blankets, dog beds, poo bags and arrival treats &#8211; it&#8217;s doggie tapas, don&#8217;t you know! They can even join you for a snooze in front of the fire while you enjoy a cocktail in the historic Great Hall. Hopefully, you can leave the OH to watch the pooch while you enjoy the spa, then it&#8217;s healthy romps on Dartmoor all the way.</p>
