<p>Complete with a viewing tower at its centre, the maze at Pennywell is made from freshly planted willow and is an ecosystem filled with wildlife. And it&#8217;s just one of the award-winning farm&#8217;s many attractions, which includes miniature pigs, tractor rides and a chance to cuddle the bunnies and cavies. <em>Entry included with admission.</em> </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-donkey-sanctuary-sidmouth"><a href="https://www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/visit-us/sidmouth" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Donkey Sanctuary</a>, Sidmouth</h2>



<p>The sanctuary&#8217;s 500 rescue donkeys rightly get all the press, but among its many free charms, including a brilliant café where you can spy on the grazing donks, is a hedge maze you can genuinely get lost in, plus regular kids&#8217; trails to keep &#8217;em busy around the site. <em>Free entry.</em></p>

<p>What you imagine when you imagine a proper woodland maze, Wildwood&#8217;s Beech Hedge Maze will keep you on your toes, rewarding you with a perch to take in your route and views over the park once you&#8217;ve made it to the centre. It was designed by the famous maze artist&nbsp;Adrian Fisher, who created the one at Blenheim Palace. It&#8217;s made from 4000 beech plants, with flying bridges and route-changing switch gates. Give yourself at least half an hour. <em>Entry included with admission. </em></p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.woodlandspark.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Woodlands Theme Park</a>, Dartmouth</h2>



<p>When you’re ready for a breather from Devon’s largest theme park, with its splashy water rides, dinosaur encounters, and Zoo Farm &#8211; there’s more fun to be found in its maze attractions. Outdoors, a wooden-walled maze is tucked into the park grounds, offering a classic challenge for all ages. Inside, the&nbsp;Seascape mirror maze  twists and turns through reflective passageways within the indoor play zones, creating a disorientating (and very fun) experience. And for younger visitors, the Wundakids Maze in the Fantasi Forest area is perfectly pitched, with a gentler layout designed for little explorers to enjoy. <em>Entry included in your admission</em></p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.watermouthcastle.com/attractions/maze/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Watermouth Castle</a>, Berrynarbor</h2>

<p>Just one of the many old-fashioned charms of this theme park, centred around a Victorian castle, which include a toboggan ride, gnomes and a water park.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.themilkyway.co.uk/rides-attractions/maze" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Milky Way Adventure Park</a>, nr Bideford</h2>



<p>Covering 3000 square meters, The Milky Way Maze boasts it&#8217;s one of the biggest in the South West even if you can cheat by looking over the tops of some of the original conifers which had to be replanted. It also lays claim to being the only maze within an operating railway line, which I&#8217;m sure is less risky than it sounds. It&#8217;s also wheelchair friendly and good for buggies (so surely designed by a woman?).</p>

<p>Not a true maze, but a labyrinth and one newly created by maze artist&nbsp;Adrian Fisher.&nbsp;It&#8217;s made from seven paved rings have been set into the grass with a polished stainless steel mirror disc Torus by the artist&nbsp;David Harber at its centre.&nbsp;A wondrous mix of modern art installation and mirror-checking opps for the teens.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s still time to squeeze in a visit to Princesshay’s Spring Market before it closes on 20 Apr. And new for this year is a free pop-up Easter Maze, complete with picnic benches so you can pause and recharge while the kids dart through the hedged labyrinth playing a lively game of hide and seek. There’s a lovely mix of traders to browse too, from handmade jewellery and beautifully scented candles to indulgent flapjacks. And if you’re in the mood for something sweet (who isn’t?), the Fudge Bus has rolled onto Bedford Street serving up brownies, cookies, and other irresistible treats.</p>
