<p>If you&#8217;ve been summoning up the energy to check out The Chagford Inn&#8217;s <em>gee-orgeous</em> makeover, here&#8217;s your chance: a five-course collaborative taster night night with Trevethan Gin. Kicking off at 6pm in their pretty beer garden, you&#8217;ll be treated to a collection of seasonal small plates alongside live music and a cocktail. Then you&#8217;ll move indoors for more gin pairings and chef Ollie&#8217;s nose-to-tail delights, including pig&#8217;s head fritter, Sladesdown duck and salted caramel tart. <em>£60pp</em></p>

Josh and the team have also brought in&nbsp;<strong>Josh Kumra</strong>&nbsp;(21 Aug) for a free admission, intimate performance of soulful acoustic brilliance, and the inimitable&nbsp;<strong>Mr Teds&nbsp;</strong>is back with his&nbsp;<strong>One Million Quizzes BC</strong>&nbsp;(20 Aug) – promising a night of wild trivia, weird prizes, and Prawle-style chaos. You can camp nearby in a campsite as cool as this former smugglers inn.</p>

<p>South Pool&#8217;s riverside gem rolls out a range of musical and foodie events through summer, including Morning Muster Breakfasts (a good bacon sandwich and a glass of fizz when the tide is high); Summer High Tide BBQs and, for live folk and jazz (we see you Mama Tokus!) from 3-5pm, their legendary Fowlescombe Farm Sunday Roasts. </p>

<p>The Five Bells are celebrating their first birthday as a community-run pub with a big garden party and we&#8217;re all invited! Celebrating all the best bits from their inaugural year, there will be games, a mini quiz and Pub Olympics, two live bands, including Charge! and The Village Village People, all rounding up with a Silent Disco at 10pm. Food is served all day from 12.30pm from Cruising Kitchen, Thai Food to Go and Smoothie Bikes. Go raise a glass with them.</p>

<p>Known for its frequent open mic nights and for punching above its weight size-wise, <a href="https://pubchamp.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Champ</a> is a locals favourite in Appledore. Every Friday is open-mic for local talent and folk at <a href="https://www.thegrampusinn.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Grampus Inn</a> at Lee Bay, while Fridays are live music nights at <a href="https://www.sailloftdartmouth.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Sail Loft</a> in Dartmouth, often accompanied by guest chef pop-ups. And the social enterterprise pub <a href="http://www.breadandrosesplymouth.co.uk">Bread &amp; Roses</a> in Plymouth has loads of indie, jazz and funk sessions and a chilled vibe (<em>“Hearts starve as well as bodies; give us bread, but give us roses&#8221;).</em> </p>
