Gift me up, baby!
In an end-of-term panic over how to thank the teachers this year (er, when did this become a 'thing', by the way)? Check out Devon-based Hello Moon for something they'll thank YOU for.
This is my first year of the dreaded ‘Thank You Gift’ for my daughter’s pre-school teachers; one of what, I’m sure will feel like decades more to come. The pressure! I’ve been breaking out in a cold sweat every time I think about the end of term looming and not just because I’ll have a Mudlet on my hands for the rest of the summer. What to get that’s not the obligatory chocolates/flowers/smellies because, let’s face it, any of the above x 20 is bad for the diet, bad for the hay fever and bad for the bathroom cabinet.
Just in the nick of time, literally, I think I’ve found something natty, neat and e -a -s-y for stressed out parents to click and tick off the to-do list, that’ll earn us all mega brownie points with the academics. Jump online and check out Hello Moon’s range of awesome personalised Thank You Gifts for teachers, designed and printed in Devon.
I love the ethos behind Hello Moon, since it was born out of the frustrations of three brothers who were on the look-out for something a leetle bit different for their own kids’ bedrooms; something fun, quirky and original (*cough* a bit like Muddy, then) that could be personalised without looking too cutesy. Enter stage left, friend and fab illustrator Emma (also a Mamma to two boys), who brought a few ideas to the table and has been working up sketches ever since…in-between breeding.
The range, still in its infancy, consists of personalised posters and mugs, but the designs are simple, catchy and colourful, no teacher would turn their nose up at a gift like this. You can buy the prints framed, unframed and in different sizes; and the best bit? When you go browsing online, you can type in the text that you’re thinking of using, to check it looks the part first, before committing (I hate blindly adding messages online, hoping for the best and ending up embarrassed by the end result, don’t you?).
A word of warning, though. Once you’ve done it the first time, you’ll then notice there are ranges for christenings, Fathers Day, Christmas and anniversaries and you’ll probably be hooked by how ridiculously easy it is to sort out those last-minute gifts. I’m particularly smitten by the kids’ range of wall art.
Anyway, crack on, if you order now it’ll be with you by the end of the week (next day delivery available if you’re worried). You can save that emergency bottle of prosecco you had in the fridge for yourself, now. You’re welcome!
