<p>Fancy a free glass of bubbles with that? Book in for a three-course menu (sittings at 3pm and 6pm) at Hope Cove&#8217;s cool bar and eatery. We&#8217;re liking all the local options, including Salcombe Meat Company, local fish or a veggie linguini for mains, and the equally local desserts made with cream from Salcombe Dairy. Then take a lovely stroll across to the beach afterwards to walk it off.</p>

<p>With its dramatic Dartmoor location, impressively long driveway and valet welcome, Bovey’s Afternoon Tea should make Mum happy even before the first mouthful. On the menu are all the ingredients you’d expect from a 5-star Eden Collection hotel, including delicate macarons, caramelised banoffee choux pastry, freshly made plain and currant scones served with Devon cream, and a selection of tarts, sausage rolls and plump finger sandwiches.
