<p>This small but perfectly formed Montessori and hygge inspired play café is the brainchild of a local qualified primary school teacher who set up the former post office as a home-from-home safe space for children to play in and explore little adventures with friends new and old. <p>This fun role play café on Fore Street in Kingsbridge is for children aged 0 right up to 7 years. Tots Playhouse has five little rooms for kids to explore, including a shop, construction site and house, plus a mini garden for the keen BBQ-ers. There&#8217;s also a designated baby area, and hot coffee and sweet treats for the deserving mummas. Booking advised.</p>

<p>Ottery&#8217;s parent-friendly coffee shop is popular locals&#8217; go-to where you&#8217;ll find a small play area fitted with a mini-me coffee bar, role play, dressing-up games, books, toys and a play pen. Make a beeline for the comfy sofa and tables within leaping distance of kids should you need to weigh in. They also run regular bedtime story sessions and pop events. </p>

<p>ITown is a new role play café for 0-7s owned by the same people who run the ibounce trampoline parks. Based in a former warehouse, the play-rooms have been developed in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, and include spaces for kids to make like a pirate or a police officer, save a zoo animal&#8217;s life at the vets, or pick produce from the farm to sell in the farm shop. Career sorted! Kids need to be accompanied during their play session, but there&#8217;s a café and ice cream parlour for refuelling afterwards.</p>

<p>Opening this February, Topsham&#8217;s gorgeous kids&#8217; lifestyle store, Squid &amp; the Kid, have brought in Pip to take over the former play area at the back (pictured), where, having trained up on her barista skills, she&#8217;s creating a fully functioning play café. Pip (above) is getting lots of help from her mate Louise at The Coffee Bank, so we&#8217;re sure it&#8217;s going to go down a storm with local kids and mums, especially as she&#8217;s offering 10% off to all keyworkers from local nursery Little Ducklings and Topsham Primary School when she opens.</p>

<p>Want the play to come to you? Full of thoughtfully curated props, The Little Village People is a small independently run pop-up role play village for 0-6 years, based around Torquay and South Devon. Devised by local lady Nikita, you can also book her imaginative settings, which can include everything from hairdressers and school patrols to cafés, construction and garden centres to bakers and vets, for cool kids&#8217; parties.</p>

<p>The biggie! Offering 12 role play areas, Bear Town is a multi award-winning indoor venue for kids aged 12 months up to and including 7 years old. As well as daily play sessions, they run great events, such as meet-ups for first time parents, kids eat free dates and dress-ups for World Book Day. They&#8217;re brilliant at seasonal theming, and this February half-term they&#8217;re running a a two-hour play adventure, the Love Heart Hunt, where a Valentine&#8217;s sweet treat is included in the price.  </p>
