Exeter is the UK’s first location for Studio Pilates, a contemporary, city-centre Pilates studio with 12 superior custom reformer machines and scientifically-sequenced exercises.

It’s a global brand which started life in Australia in 2002, and now has 100 studios worldwide. The Exeter studio is owned by Felicity Kelly, aka Flick, who discovered SP while living in Australia and was so impressed, she traded in her corporate career and launched her own studio on her return to Devon.

Located just off the city’s High Street, at The Depot on Cheeke Street, the studio is elegant and fitted with 12 Reformer machines, where small classes are led by trained instructors and screens around the studio. If you’ve not tried it before, they’re a bit like rowing machines except you sit, lie or kneel them on to do your moves, targeting muscles in a very precise way. It’s intense but it really builds up core strength, while toning and sculpting. Hence why people love the results!

With voiceover to emphasise key points, instructors are free to provide one-on-one feedback, just as you’d get in a personal training session. Even better, there are no expensive memberships, so you can dip your toe before committing.
