The Ivy, Exeter
Glamorous grown-up dining in the heart of Exeter for morning, noon and night, including afternoon teas, private parties or a cheeky cocktail at the bar.

Let’s do The Ivy, darling! Swish Art Deco decor, acres of velvet cushions and more glamour than Nicole Kidman. A city hotspot for kicking back with your gals, grown-up all-day dining, and a let’s-have-a-laugh vibe. Every detail, from the sexy bar and monogrammed napkins, right down to the wonderful surprise of the 3-D floral ceiling in the ladies is absolutely on point. And we love the golden glow of The Ivy’s lighting, warm and flattering, by day or by date night.
Overlooking Exeter Cathedral is the very clubbable Private Dining Room with a table for 10, decorated with Instagam-friendly flora and fauna artwork inspired by Exeter’s Rougemont Gardens and the River Exe. Or take it outside to to their terrace on Cathedral Green, to sit, Emily in Paris style, with your morning coffee or afternoon tea, and watch the world go by.
The delicious ambience is reflected in the mouth-watering menus, which include monthly specials, their hugely popular Sunday roast, a children’s menu and vegan options. Go for The Ivy’s classic shepherd’s pie, traditional battered fish & chips, sirloin steak from the grill or a foraged wild mushroom and truffle linguine. All delivered to The Ivy’s impeccable standards, of course.
A fun, buzzy vibe, perfect for a celebration and one that won’t break the bank. If you don’t believe me, check out the 1917 menu – 2 courses for £19.95. And did I mention the cocktails?
