One for wellbeing adventurers and yoga warriors! A gorgeous new pamper place, offering yoga, reiki and state of the art floatation rooms has landed in Totnes. Tucked down a sweet little lane in Totnes town centre, The Forge Therapy Centre has been thoughtfully curated by owners Lily and Toby as a restful retreat. Architect-designed by local firm Roderick James Architects, the interior is styled according to trauma-informed design principles with not a clinical bone in its body. No fluorescent lights or white tiles, instead it’s bathed in earthy colours, dimmable lighting and natural materials. Quality oak, tasteful art and fresh botanicals are the order of the day.

We’ve already been – naturally – and can confirm the float is a must-do. For the uninitiated, a floatation is like a bath, filled with Epsom salts and held at body temperature. The salts are not only good for your skin, but also allow you to magically float, as if suspended in the Dead Sea. A range of qualified practitioners ply their craft here, from breathwork and reiki, to craniosacral therapy and holistic massage, along with specialists in Bach flower remedies and naturopathy. Post-treatment, you’re invited to enjoy a complementary herb tea in an upstairs relaxation area.
