Sorry, didn’t see you there! I’m just a teeny bit distracted by all these shiny bracelets and beautiful handmade rings. As you know Muddy loves to support local businesses, and we’re always keen to shout out for Devon talent. But this one is even more personal than usual, because I’ve known Yaniv, the owner of Isla Silver, for almost as long as he’s been trading which is over *mumbles* 30 years.

For Yaniv, it all started with his travels in the 90s, across India on a motorbike, and an inspiring visit to the jewellery city of Jaipur where he saw first hand the work of the city’s talented jewellers. He watched, he learnt, he moved to the UK where he started a family (Isla’s his daughter) and he now splits his time between his studio in Newton Abbot, where he designs each piece by hand, and India where a master team turn his designs into reality.

What started out as a market stall has now blossomed into a covetable online collection – actually four collections: Floral Flair, Mixed Gems, Bold & Beautiful and Quiet & Elegant, basically a mix of silvery styles to suit your taste.

Personally, I’m gaga about Isla’s drop earrings (which are amazing value for something hand-made). Check out the detail and the botanical accuracy in the flowers, the daffodils and forget-me-nots – so delicate and true to life. Anyway, it’s all gorgeous. Check it out.
