<p>A delightful private holistic therapy clinic, <a href="https://equilibrium-hillhead.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Equilibrium</a> is nestled in the beautiful Devon countryside of the Blackdown Hills in Uffculme. Owner therapist Juliette has converted a small barn next to her exquisitely renovated 18th century farmhouse in which she provides a wide array of treatments for her clients. Gloriously convenient as it is only&nbsp;a couple of minutes drive from junction 27 of the M5,&nbsp;Tiverton Parkway and the A38.&nbsp;</p>

<p>You approach via a quiet country road and drive straight onto the spacious driveway &#8211; so much easier than city parking. The sense of ease continues as&nbsp; Equilibrium is set in a six-acre garden which overlooks a newly planted woodland and far-reaching fields. It was so quiet when I arrived that the only sounds I could hear were the breeze and a spot of birdsong. </p>

<p>Juliette made me welcome and introduced me to the treatment room which is beautifully appointed and full of delightful products – all of which are vegan and organic. It felt safe, quiet, private and classy. I especially loved the screen and the etched glasses featuring the Equilibrium logo (a thoughtful gift from her son).</p>

<p>Juliette has perfected a broad range of treatments since she began practising as a holistic therapist in 2006. Beginning with Indian head massage&nbsp;and building her skillset to include many Holistic Therapies including Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Swedish massage and in more recent years the practice of colonic irrigation… so she really can offer you a <em>top to bottom</em> service.</p>

<p>After discussing what I would like to achieve from the facial, I opted for an <a href="https://www.fresha.com/a/equilibrium-uffculme-uk-rhx2sb2x/booking?allOffer=true&amp;menu=true" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">anti-aging facial</a>. The bed was comfortable, the towels and blankets warm, and the relaxing soundscape was of birdsong which I found infinitely more relaxing than a tune that I can&#8217;t stop my brain trying to follow. </p>

<p>My skin was triple cleansed with with lovely Natura Siberica products, starting with the balancing micellar lotion, hyaluronic acid face tonic (Juliette says she uses hyaluronic acid in all of her face treatments as it is so moisturising) then further tonics and face scrubs followed. She has a perfect blend of both warm and cool hands simultaneously &#8211;&nbsp; magic. </p>



<p>Once gently, but firmly, scrubbed to a state of sparkling cleanliness, my face was treated to the instant glow face mask and while that worked its magic alongside the Hydro gel eye patches, I was treated to a divine foot massage. </p>



<p>Final touches were provided by the anti-gravity face serum which went on so smoothly it was my stand out favourite product. I had requested a spot of age defying in the mix and a peptide rich face cream was massaged firmly in leaving my skin feeling so soft &#8211; and possibly even a tad lifted?</p>

<p>Colon hydrotherapy&nbsp;has become a particular interest of Juliettes’ after she trained to provide it through her work in local wellness clinics and retreats in both Devon and Somerset. She has become passionate about gut and body health and their relationship to our mental health, and it&#8217;s one of the reasons she has established this new clinic from her home where she can provide colonic irrigation easily and privately. And yes, I did check &#8211; she does have colonic treatments herself and has found them very beneficial, as have countless of her clients.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re still a little squeamish, why not try the most recent string to her bow&nbsp; &#8211;&nbsp; body scrubs and full body wraps? She has had some truly fantastic feedback from clients, including those with psoriasis and eczema who have found their skin greatly improved by their treatments. (I&#8217;ve seen and sniffed the range of products and they feature so many delicious smelling fruit and veg that you&#8217;ll get your five a day rubbed in whilst you&#8217;re there).</p>

<p>If you – totally understandably &#8211; can&#8217;t resist the chance to race straight over to Equilibrium you could coincide it with a quaint day out at the&nbsp;<em><a href="https://www.exevalleyrotary.org.uk/uffculme-show/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Uffculme Country Show</a></em>&nbsp; (Sun 1 Sept) at the super Bridwell Estate where I popped in for a post-glow coffee, literally 2 mins away. Or maybe try lunch at the <em><a href="https://www.theculmvalley.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Culm Valley Inn</a></em> which has rather super rooms should you feel so relaxed you can’t face the drive home.</p>

<p>Juliette&nbsp; is a genuine find. Highly qualified, clearly skilled offering a broad range of treatments including for some very specific health benefits alongside those for pure pleasure and relaxation. She has clearly learned a lot about the human body inside and out and can help you feel like your best self. Also the privacy, the quiet,the truly convenient access and the beautiful surroundings of her country home with rolling views of the hills is just a delight and puts you in the right frame of mind to step out ready to glow.</p>



<p><strong>Good for</strong>: All adults, men are welcome and are treated to their own range of Natura Siberica products featuring rather butch names like Wolf Power and The Mammoth (A hot stones massage is the most popular choice with the fellas).</p>



<p><strong>Not for</strong>: Generally an adults only space the colonic irrigation is absolutely 18 plus, however, Juliette provides mobile pamper parties for all age options which will include a range of Mini treatments suitable to the age group</p>
