Gotta have it: Mr Fox’s Garden plant supports
Torrential rain meaning everything in the garden not looking rosy this summer? Stop the flop with Mr Fox's Garden handmade plant supports.
In the wise (almost) words of Edwin Starr: “Rain, huh, what is it good for, absolutely nothing”. And please don’t tell me it’s good for the garden because the torrential downpours we’ve been having this summer, are quite the opposite – in fact they’re wreaking havoc with my gladioli, I can tell you (she says coming over all Alan Bennett).
I do however have a solution up my sleevey – Mr Fox’s Garden plant supports. I’ve known Mr and Mrs Fox – aka James and Catherine – for years, back when he was still a jobbing garden designer. Now the pair are the UK’s largest maker of forged garden art, all from their home in Torquay, with James working as the blacksmith and Catherine the designer.
Handmade from steel which gradually rusts over time, their plant stakes and supports are just the thing to prop up the floppers, or just if you want something pretty to pop in a border to add some interest.
They also do lovely panels, rain catchers, lantern crooks, decorative animals (including Mr & Mrs Fox, obvs) – and at £10-£15 for a stake and £32 for a panel, it’s a very affordable way to add some local handmade art to your patch.
