MON 29 JAN - SUN 4 FEB 2018
Parkruns, Victoria Park, Bideford & Rock Park, Barnstaple, every Saturday
It wouldn’t be a January guide without some fitness, would it? How about joining one of Devon’s many Parkruns? These free, group runs take place in parks all over the place and are a fab way to coax you into a fitter lifestyle. These two take place every Saturday morning, so you can be up and having coffee and cake by 10.30am. That’s the bright way to look at things, right?

Tony Law, Exeter Phoenix, Tues 30 Jan
Billed as a ‘delirious Canadian’, if you’ve seen this guy on the likes of Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You, you’ll probably agree. Anyway, Mr Law is back with a brand new show full of his unique stand-up comedy and he’s in Exeter for one night only.

Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella, Theatre Royal, Plymouth, Tues 30 Jan – Sat 3 Feb
Here’s a nice end-of-the-month treat for you: Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella – a thrilling and evocative interpretation of the classic love story, set in London during the Second World War, which forms part of the company’s 30th anniversary celebrations. The people behind this production are no strangers to critical acclaim and sell-out shows and this is most definitely one of them.
Ed Byrne: Spoiler Alert, Exmouth Pavilion, Wed 31 Jan
Ed’s hitting the road with his biggest tour to date, apparently. In this show, he’ll be exploring the thin line between righteous complaining and brat-like whining and asks ‘are we right to be fed up, or are we spoiled’? Hmm, one of life’s big questions there…
