The multi award-winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company arrives in Devon this month and, if the hype is to be believed, it’s one not to miss.  The story, inspired by Roald Dahl’s much-loved book, is that of a little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Valentines Speed Wine Tasting at the Kingston Estate, Staverton, Thurs 14 February

Not up for the annual ‘how many awkward couples can we squeeze into our little restaurant’ game this year? Me neither.  This, on the other hand, sounds much more up my street. The South West Wine School are celebrating Valentines in style – join Sunday Telegraph Wine Writer Susy Atkins and a team of wine experts at the beautiful Kingston Estate for a speed tasting, washed down with a delicious four-course menu. Cheers to that!
