OUTDOORS: Dartmoor Bike Fest, River Dart Country Park, Sat 30 Mar

On yer bike! Try out new wheels, find out how to change gear without falling off (or is that just me?) and get advice from British Cycling coaches and south-west racing teams. Plus the chance to look flashy on the some cycle trails and pump track.  It’s for kids too so pack the Muddies.

FLOWER FESTIVALS 

Rhododendron ‘Dramatic Dark’ at the RCM Centenary Show at RHS Garden Wisley.

Spring ahoy! There’s a couple of festivals this month to get your floral fix, RHS Garden Rosemoor kicks off on Sat 16 – Sun 17 with its Spring Flower Festival, showcasing top quality blooms from competitors from Devon and beyond. There’ll also be loads of early spring shrubs available to buy in the Plant Centre if you fancy doing some planting of your own. Over at Greenway it’s all about Camellias with their annual festival that celebrates their commended Camellia garden, Sat 23 Feb – 31 Mar. There’ll be floral displays in the house and around the garden as well as a changing daily programme of walks, talks and activities. It’s National Trust so there’s your usual café, shops and even a second hand bookshop.
