Still wishing you’d looked after yer teeth? Navigating moments that are both hilarious and profoundly heart-breaking Pam shows she’s still got it – followed by a Q and A and book signing.


CHRISTMAS: Candlelit Dartmouth, Fri 30 – Sat 31 Nov

If this doesn’t get you in the festive mood, nothing will: two days of live music, children’s entertainment, a Christmas fair and all of Dartmouth’s lovely art galleries and shops to explore, with a lantern procession on the Saturday night. Now, where did I put that paper mâché?


Traditional and Burlap Wreath making workshop, Palace Theatre, Paignton, Sat 30 Nov

Take your pick of trad or long-lasting burlap wreath with lots of materials, help and advice on hand provided from talented painter and illustrator Cara Roxanne, as well as a mince pie *or two*, hot chocolate or mulled wine. XMAS: Tiverton Lights Switch on, Tiverton, Sat 30 Nov

The town replaced its infamous pant-shaped Crimbo lights with something more trad last year (spoilsports), so you’ll just have to made do with with a lantern parade at 5.30pm, plus live choirs, a funfair for the littlies, street food in the Pannier Market and the Big Man himself will be making an appearance in his grotto on Fore Street.

A tale as old as time, now a panto! Things get romantic, things get magical and things get hairy as Belle, her sister Souffle and Dame Betty Bonbon fight to free Prince Valentin from the curse of the Evil Enchantress. Will they succeed in time to save Belle’s love and the family business? You’ll just to have go along and find out,


COMEDY: Ben Elton, Princess Theatre, Torquay, Sat 30 Nov

Ho ho ho! (sorry, too early?) There’s plenty to laugh about this month, but most notably, we recommend getting tickets for Ben Elton’s return to the stand up scene. The iconic comedian hasn’t toured in 15 years, with his new material promising to attempt to make sense of a world that he thinks has gone mad (fair point).


Festive Food & Gift Extravaganza, John’s Deli, Instow, 10am-4pm, Sun 1 Dec

Not been to the Muddy-award-winning foodie heaven that is Johns Deli yet? Go this Sunday for their annual extravaganza, free tastings with 12 local festive producers, new launches from Pull the Pin rum, hamper ideas and John’s personal pick of the best local.



EXHIBITION: VR Show: Cirque Du Soleil, University of Plymouth, Sun 1 – Sun 8 Dec

Explore the surreal world of acclaimed circus troupe, Cirque Du Soleil, as three new Virtual Reality films by Liminia transport you to a world of whimsical, water dwelling characters, an epic adventure of two warring families clashing in breath taking acrobatic combat and a journey through an imaginary Mexico suspended between dreams and reality, all made possible by Plymouth University’s all new, cutting edge Immersive Visualisation Lab.
