Roll out the red carpet: Introducing your Muddy Winners!

Hand me a cold flannel and a large glass of something, anything: the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2017 are officially over, phew!

muddy awards logo

The response to the Awards this year (our first for Devon) has been incredible, with up to 100,000 people per day voting across the Muddy Stilettos sites and over 250,000 votes cast – awareness of the pink spiky heel has gone bonkers! Thank you to you lovely, loyal Devon folk for voting for our favourite local shops, businesses and people, but the Muddy’s have come to a glorious close after a nail biting finish.

The battle was terrifyingly fierce in some categories but it’s pretty obvious that you all care deeply about your local shops and services.

I’m sure you’ll agree that all the Finalists deserve massive praise for making the shortlist. Many of the categories were brutally fought to the end – with some categories too close to call right up to the wire including Best Bar, Fitness Instructor, and as for the Interiors Stores…well, I never for one moment imagined it could get that close – and we’re talking a vote or two!

Do check out our winners and our finalists in person. They clearly have a lot of fans already so chances are you’ll soon become one yourself!

Right, enough waffle from me… WHO FLIPPIN’ WON?!

    Hi Sharon
Please help – I can only find a self catering place under Cliff House Torcross! Is this correct that you class this as ‘Best Boutique Stay’? Am sure I have it incorrect as one can’t possibly have self catering as a boutique stay. Please guide me in the right direction…..
    Many thanks
    Allison

Hi Allison, yes it is correct. In previous years, Muddy Stilettos had a ‘Boutique Hotel’ category in the awards, but in more recent years, we felt it wasn’t fair to discount all of the great B&Bs, guest houses and self-catering cottages (of which there are so many in Devon!), so the category was broadened. It seems better than to add another category, when we already have 27 of them! But you never know what’ll happen next year! Sharon x
