Father’s Day Gift Inspo

It's all about him on 17 June.  And we're fine with that.  For a day, at least.

Here are some gifty ideas for Dads of all tastes, from some of our favourite local businesses. Happy shopping!

FOR ACTION DADS* (or y’know, Dads who like the idea of trying new things)

man on climbing wall and man sailing

Go climbing at the Climbing Hangar; get on the water with SeaSports South West

The Climbing Hangar

Is he yearning to try a new sport? Or already an accomplished climber? He’ll love this one, then. Plymouth’s brand spanking new Climbing Hangar will be offering free unlimited climbing for Dads coming in with their kids all weekend.  You just need to pay for your small person (if they’re already a member, even better!).

SeaSports  South West

Fancy taking Daddio to the seaside and sitting on the shore with a picnic, while he splashes about, eventually emerging from the sea looking like Daniel Craig (in a wetsuit?). Hell, why not even join him for a taster session or lesson on a personal watercraft (jet ski), or a spot of windsurfing or paddle boarding? SeaSports South West can also offer a Day Skipper or navigation course for the intrepid sailor, or the opportunity to head out for a tranquil paddle along the seafront.  Basically, there’s loads on offer for all budgets, starting from just a tenner, so best to give them a call to book your gift of choice.

Turtley Corn Mill – a pub in a garden; and The Thatched Inn – top roasts!

And finally, the perfect family celebration must include a stonking roast.  Our two faves – one North, one South, are the Turtley Corn Mill at Avonwick and the Thatched Inn at Ilfracombe.  Total crowd-pleasers for all the family.
