When did you last really take some time out for yourself? Not just half an hour on a treatment table, but really meaningful time, where you get to put down that load for a day or two and give yourself some TLC. If it’s waaaaay too long, then drop everything and listen up about the new Coach House on the Sharpham Estate.

You’re bound to have heard of the Sharpham Trust, they’re globally renowned for their programme of mindfulness and wellbeing courses which they deliver in 550 acres of leafy loveliness on the banks of the River Dart.

New for spring 2022, they’re launching a shiny-new 18-room retreat centre called The Coach House, with an exciting new style of  mindfulness, based outdoors re-wilding and growing. Here you can bliss out on Nature with your hands in the fertile South Hams soil. Brilliant for anyone who gets fidgety if you’re too long in the lotus position!

The Coach House is a Grade II-listed building in the old stable yard, dating back to 1760, sensitively updated with contemporary oak and glass, and with a meditation and dining space and a peaceful library, set beside peaceful green lawns and the inky-green river.

You’ve the option of a four or six-night stay, which both include three daily 30-minute meditations, full-board with healthy, home-cooked veggie food, a single room and the chance to rejuvenate with a like-minded community of co-retreaters. Price-wise, it’s a fraction of what you’d pay abroad, starting at £450 for four nights.

Sound like your kind of rustic retreat? Don’t be shy, give them a bell! You can also enjoy a range of other uplifting retreats, from yoga, to silent and Buddhist retreats. And for anyone planning a BIG Day, wanting to keep it eco-friendly, sustainable and super-ethical, you can also get hitched here, plus there’s a magical 18th-century Bathing House perched right on the river you can book for a stay.

Book in and bliss out.
