Raw Flora

Say namaste to a luxury online range of super-comfy yoga and lounge gear, handmade in Devon from ethically-sourced fabrics.

Desperately seeking a sustainable yoga brand to match your eco-ethics? Call off the search! We talent-spotted Raw Flora back when it launched at the start of lockdown (brave) and it’s exactly the cool range of online womens’ lounge and active wear you’re after.

We’re talking a covetable range of tops, legging and accessories handmade locally from organic, recycled and fair trade fabrics (no nasty chemicals or sweat shops here), and, for every order placed, Raw Flora have a tree planted somewhere around the globe by One Tree Planted.

Raw Flora was founded by talented seamstress, Alexandra, who works from her studio on the south Devon coast. She’s also a fully qualified 230 hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher), so knows how important the right fit is during your down dog (ie not hanging over your face).

Alex got into sewing and yoga when she was younger as a way to calm panic attacks. Then, after a spot of foreign travel in a customised Sprinter van with her boyfriend Kieran, she returned to the UK and took up work with a fast fashion company. She quickly realised she didn’t think much of the quality of the clothes, the ethos (or the pay), and Raw Flora was born.

Eagle-eyed readers will remember Muddy raving about Raw Flora in a Gotta Have It. It’s not just Alex’s fabric curation, we love the tasteful Farrow & Ball shades, and the super-comfy fit, clearly made by a yoga lover for yoga lovers.

Check out the MOVE Leggings with their contrasting panel and flattering high waist; the soft but structured bamboo Tulip Vest, which fits up top, draping nicely over your bum and tum. Since we first met Alex, she’s also designed a Long Sleeve Comfort Tee, a Recycled Sports Bra and has a new underwear collection in the pipeline.

Considering it’s all handmade (she will even customise your order), the prices are uber-reasonable: tops from £40; and £45 for shorts to £55 for leggings. We’re thinking it’s a great gift for the yoga bunny in your life, or even better – you!
