Jenny South Photography

Muddy says: I’ve always had a preconceived idea that a professional photography session would be a bit awkward and sterile, but, having met the super-friendly, smiley and talented Jenny South, it turns out I’m wrong with a big, fat Family Fortunes nerr-nerrr. If you’re considering a maternity, newborn or family portrait shoot, then you’ll find every single step of the experience at this fab studio in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard, a total pleasure.

Having spent time recently sussing out the Jenny South Bespoke Photography experience, I’m kind of regretting not entertaining this idea earlier in my life. So if you’re considering calling in a pro to capture some of life’s memories that would otherwise whizz by in a flash, then I’d say do it – do it and enjoy every second of what’s going to be a lovely experience for you and yours!

The very lovely Jenny, a photographer with a string of qualifications and accreditations, offers families the opportunity to be able to hit pause on life and record some of those critical milestones. Whether that’s a maternity shoot, one with your newborn, or the family, you’re likely to be able to build a package that suits what you fancy and you’ll be in good hands with Jenny, who genuinely loves being a part of the journey with her clients.

Based in Plymouth, within the Royal William Yard’s Cooperage – the city’s arts hub, which only happens to have a cracking cafe below (just saying), Jenny has a full service studio, where she can produce both digital and custom artwork.  She can create both natural light and studio portraiture, with or without an array of props. She loves a bit of nature, too and will happily zip along to the beach, for example, if you prefer something more wild. She takes the ‘bespoke’ bit very seriously, does Jenny.

And that’s why this couldn’t be further from a clinical, impersonal point and shoot experience. From a pre-shoot consultation, where you’ll be encouraged to think about your home decor, colour schemes, materials and the space where you’re thinking of showing off your shots; through to being presented with your images and chatting through how best to frame and display them, Jenny will tease out your tastes, even if you’re not sure what they are.

Whether it’s for you, or a gift to a friend or family member (yep, you can buy gift vouchers), this one’s an investment that’ll be worth every penny. I mean, look at those images – almost makes me broody (did I say that out loud?)
