Finley Browns

Like good, honest, home-cooked food, family-run and family-friendly? Oh, and delicious three-layers cakes and waffles?? To Finley Browns you must go.

Owned by Martin and Faye, this town-centre cafe is all French-farmhouse in style with sweetie-shop style bunting and fairy-lights, with room to spread out indoors and outside on Teignmouth’s buzzy Bank Street. Home-made cakes and breakfasts are chef Faye’s bestseller, and there’s loads of choice for gluten-free as Martin recently discovered he’s a coeliac, so has first-hand knowledge of the foodie issues.

Drinks-wise, there are fun shakes in jam-jars, local cider, Jail Ale and three wines by the glass, or if you’re being good – tea in proper teapots and good strong stuff from The Coffee Company, served up with a choice of GF burgers, jackets, panini and baguettes and a top-notch Devonshire cream tea on home-made scones.

What’s not to love? They’ve got a 2019 Good Food award, and they deffo get my vote too.
