The Fig Tree @ 36, Plymouth
Like your meals cosy, intimate and more than a bit delicious? You'll love the Fig Tree @ 36 then, an every-occasion restaurant located in a quiet backwater.
I’ll tell you what, this one’s a total find, even if I do say so myself! Head for the historic Royal William Yard, peel off left onto Admiralty Street, just before you get there and you’ll find The Fig Tree @ 36 perched on a quiet street, dishing up some seriously good fare.
You’ll be on the receiving end of a really warm welcome, too at this intimate little eatery, complete with its very own namesake, a fig tree in the sheltered, whitewashed walled garden. Owners Tanya and Ryan have got this restaurant business nailed, Tanya working the room front of house and Ryan putting his impressive chef skills to creative use.
You can expect lots of classics, made with fresh local produce and more than a few little surprise twists on the menu. The Duck lasagne came highly recommended to me by friends (I predict this one will become a signature staple here), while the seafood dishes are well worth ordering, too. As for puds, try and leave room because you won’t want to miss out on the sweet stuff, trust me.
Go with friends, go with your love, go for lunch, go for dins, that’s the point really; every occasion dining done really, really well. Find the full, tasty, review here.
