The Family Law Company

Muddy says: The Family Law Company specialise in family and nothing else, so whether you’re going through the pain of a divorce or trying to sort out a dispute over the children, it pays to have a specialist on your case.

Reliable, up-to-date advice is what you want when you’re wading through a divorce or settling a dispute over the children. With The Family Law Co – that’s a given. As specialists with a raft of national and regional awards, including Family Law Firm of the Year 2o16, family law is all they do, covering divorce and finance, child disputes, pre-nuptial agreements, domestic abuse, unmarried separation, surrogacy, grandparent access and adoption.

But when you’re going through a tough time, emotional support matters too. What impressed me when I chatted to company director and head divorce lawyer Rachel Buckley (who is warm and clearly very experienced btw), was their focus on supporting the wellbeing of their clients too. They want to help you get through it as unscathed as possible, and are there with the tissues, empathy and loads of unpatronising advice on how to split in a dignified way. (Check out Rachel’s break-up tips here – they’re packed with advice on looking after number one.) What’s more they take time to communicate in a way that suits you, whether it’s by phone, email or letter. And when something potentially so upsetting and sensitive is being delivered, that really matters, right?

With three offices, in Exeter, Plymouth and Taunton, TFLC are one of a select few firms that are on a specialist panel enabling them to provide expert advice in child abduction cases.  Their website has prescient blogs on changes to the law, for example, and they’re shortly starting a monthly series of podcasts. The first uplifting topics include dating after divorce and getting back into the workplace. The message is clear – there is life after divorce. And I reckon this is the company to get you there.
