Gotta have it: Pipity Activity Books
Get the kids off their screens and out of your hair with these brilliant colouring and crafting books from Pipity. Plus 15% off for Muddy readers!
Tearing your hair out for an easy-peasy, off-screen idea to occupy the kids in lockdown? I hear ya! If you have boys or girls who enjoy colouring and crafting, and who are between 5 and 10 years old, then Pipity is for you.
Designed by Devon mum Kate de Bass (she’s got three kids so she feels our pain), her absorbing crafting books and activity cases are a hit from the UK to Germany, Canada and Australia and are genius for when you need a break from home-schooling, or each other.
You won’t even need to helicopter-parent because some come with helpful Youtube videos, meaning all you need do is provide the colouring pens, craft scissors and an iPad – and then make a dash for it.
The activity books are paper-based activities, including good old-fashioned faves such as on-the go games, dress-up dolls, puppet shows.
For wildlife fans, Animals has 24 perforated pages of cut out and keep paper playthings, including cats and mice, to turn into finger puppets and play things, or whatever their imaginations decides.
Likewise, the Travel Activity Book has miniature houses, hot air balloons (above) and bookmarks to colour and build, and hopefully play with afterwards.
At £3.75 each they are a total steal – or buy two and you get free postage.
If you want to spend a bit more, Pipity’s gorgeous Activity Cases, come in pink, blue and red, quality made in wipe-down oilcloth, with a built-in easel, and all the equipment they need to get creative. Perfect for long car journeys (never thought I’d miss those…).
Check out this cute video on how to make Doris the Dormouse. It’s so soothing. Might have a go myself.
