Gotta have it
Is it a candle? Is it a vase? It's both! And Muddy has four of these hand-made porcelain beauties from Devon potter Alison Miles to GIVEAWAY!
As we’re all spending a lot of time with our noses pressed to the window, I have found you the perfect windowsill distraction. No more gawking at the neighbours, take a gander at this gorgeous candle vase instead.
Candle vase, you say? Yes, you can light the wick and enjoy the scent and then once it’s burnt down, wash it out and pop in a sprig of blossom. Beautiful and useful which is what we all want in these less throwaway times, no?
Based by the sea in Devon, Alison creates each vase by hand in her Shaldon workshop, forming, firing, glazing, re-firing, then adding a bit of gold or platinum bling and finally re-firing in a process that takes several weeks.
Alison works with porcelain, specifically creating patterned pieces which allow the light to shine through, whether it’s candle-lit or when it’s sitting pretty on a window ledge.
It’s made with eco-friendly soya wax which is easy to clean out and perfumed in one of three summery scents, including Salcombe, Basil Lime and Mandarin or Pear and Freesia.
And now for the best bit! We have four of Alison’s handmade freesia-scented candle vases worth £124 to giveaway to four readers. Head over to my Muddy Instagram for all the deets.
