Bamboo you! Here’s what every planet-friendly picnic needs
Why should pandas have all the fun when bamboo homeware is good for the planet and looks pretty darn fine on your picnic blanket too. Down Chi Chi, that lunch box is mine!
Plastic. What’s that? I am now forbidding all contact with the aforesaid since I have discovered Devon’s new zero-waste company, Gecko Tech and their seriously cool curated range of homeware, travel essentials and tech, all made with bamboo and innovative bamboo fibre.
You will no longer be needing the Tupperware *so last century, darling* for camping and beach trips once you get your paws on their gorgeous bamboo and stainless steel travel flask and the bamboo and bamboo fibre lunch box, which comes complete with a cute set of cutlery strapped to the lid, all of which is biodegradable, just like the lunch it contains.
(I’m also eyeing up their bamboo power bank – currently out of. stock – but when it’s back in that’s one on the birthday present lust-list for Mr Muddy.)
What I like most of all is that Gecko Tech’s Devon-based, entrepreneurial and eco-minded owners, Charlie, Reuben and Jordan (uni friends in their early 20s and genuinely fired-up about our plastic-filled norm) are donating 5% of all sales straight to environmental causes, including Pandas International who are working to support the Panda Reserves in China to ensure the survival of the species. Happy now, Chi Chi?
