Rose Rankin: Cool Kicks for the Country
Muddy Cornwall editor (and fashion writer) Sophie has been shoe-shopping and found these cool and comfy-looking beauties. I reckon it's worth a little jaunt into Cornwall, don't you?
Moving from London’s fashion scene to blogging in rural Cornwall demands a serious wardrobe rethink! Sure, my favourite heels would get muddy (sandy too) every time I left the house and frankly there’s not even a dry cleaner in the village for anything silky. But the fashion writer in me still craves pretty shoes and I’ve found my dream ticket in Rose Rankin’s luxe trainers.
Irish-born Rose, a trainer-obsessed tomboy from an early age, worked in fashion and film and trained at London’s Central Saint Martins, before launching her namesake footwear line. Rose’s sophisticated yet playful sneakers combine sleek styling and retro references. They bring a glamorous touch to jeans, lend a hip edge to smarter looks and frankly, anyone who makes glitter and leopard print school-run appropriate, is ok by me.
This season, Rose’s Coney low-tops are back in soft gold with glitter and off-white lacing or in bold, black and white check with metallic trims. While the achingly cool, new Simmy is a pair you can really prowl around in. These statement leopard print mid-tops, with gold detailing will steal the show from work to weekend.
