Longlands Luxury Glamping

Muddy says: After a stay at this pretty damn idyllic spot near the North Devon coast, you’ll never, ever want to camp without a Chesterfield sofa again. This is every glamper’s dream, basically a boutique hotel under canvas.

This multi award-winning luxury glamping destination takes bedding down under canvas to a whole new, dreamy level. Five super-swish, fully-equipped safari lodges sit in their own secret valley, just a few miles from the bracing beaches of the North Devon coast.  You know when camping can become a complete faff? No chance, here; it’s romantic, fun and family (not to mention doggy) friendly, where everything and more is included – which means relaxation on all counts.

Fire up the wood burning stove, dine on scrummy homemade meals if you want to give cooking a miss, wash it down with wine, local ales and treats from the larder; snuggle down in amongst Egyptian cotton sheets after you’ve done your ablutions in a proper private toilet and toasty shower room; only then, listening to the peace and quiet, broken only by the occasional hoot of an owl, will you remember that you’re in the Great Outdoors.

The next day, stomp the 17 acres of beautiful countryside, lark around on the boating lake stocked with rainbow trout (yours to catch and cook if you fancy), or relax in the hot tub, with its stonking views.  If it’s a rainy day, then book in for a massage in the spa barn, while the other grown-up supervises the littlie during a play over in the larder.  With so much to do on your doorstep (I know there’s not an actual door, but almost!), you might forget that you’re only 20 minutes from Britain’s Best Beach at Woolacombe, not to mention the endless beauty of Exmoor National Park.

Honestly, if you’ve never tried glamping this will be an extraordinary introduction to how to do it in style. And if I still haven’t tempted you enough to go, then read my full review here.
