Muddy Devon Celebrates its first Awards Winners

Waaaahhhhhh! I'm still on a mahooosive high, after hosting the first ever Muddy Devon Awards bash to celebrate our county's amazing winners.  What fun!

This morning, the victorious masses descended on Plymouth’s Royal William Yard, taking up residence at the fab and very chic Le Vignoble wine lounge (worthy finalists in the Best Wine Merchant category, by the way, check ’em out!)

Since these guys like to showcase the best local producers, we popped a few corks and quaffed Sharpham 2014 Sparkling Blanc, kindly supplied by the vineyard in Devon and happily drunk by our winners.  A lee-tt-le bit too easy to drink, that stuff!

For those still desperate to cling on to the glorious sunshine of the past week, noshable Pimms ice lollies were being dished out by the very glam (gorgeous blue shoe-wearing) Mel of Olly Lolly, creator of THE most tasty (and photogenic) fresh fruit lollies in the West Country (also finalists in the Local Producer category).

The Olly part of the duo may have been at Glastonbury, delivering a batch to the backstage restaurant, but whatevs.  Mel clearly drew the long straw by getting to come to the Muddy Awards.

I’m incredibly overwhelmed at the turnout today.  To see so many indie’s come together and celebrate gaining such recognition from Muddy readers was truly special.

A big shout-out to the north Devon contingent who clearly got right behind the awards from day one and took the time out to make the journey south.

Hosting the Muddy Awards has been an epic experience and to have over 16,000 people take the time to get behind their fave local businesses and show them the love is just amazing and speaks for itself.  On behalf of all the winners and finalists, a huge thank you from Team Muddy to all who got involved.

So, without further ado, have a gander at the snaps and let’s hear it one more time for the Muddy Awards Winners 2017.  Ta-dahhhhh!

Until next year, Muddies! x
