Sound the Muddy klaxon! It’s the first spa review for the Devon edition and what a corker. Allow me to introduce you to the Spa at Ilsington, on Dartmoor.
I have to admit, I wasn’t very clever in my scheduling, since I wobbled along this morning after a night of shovelling pancake after pancake into my cake hole. Oh, that hydrotherapy pool must have loved pummelling all that freshly made blubber.
I reckon that around about now, some of you are beginning to waver on your fitness regimes. More still probably never got around to beginning one despite promising to. And others are sick to the back teeth of seeing people’s Facebook updates telling us how many miles they just ran…. at six o’clock on a freaking Sunday morning. Wherever you currently stand on the idea of healthy living, I thought that a timely rant from Muddy founder Hero Brown might help ease those feels of frustration.
Dry January is dull, I’m boring myself just thinking about it; even saying the words out loud sound like a monotonous drone. But boy can it work wonders; I know from personal experience, having tried it one year, mainly so I could finally part company with my maternity jeans…two years on from the first wear.
This year, while I might (read: probably won’t) make an effort to appease my Fitbit by moving about a bit more, I intend to make sure that at least some of that activity takes me in the direction of a bar or two this January…I just haven’t decided yet whether it’ll be a dry month, a damp one, or a monsoon.
I’m just back from a weekend course at Ashburton Cookery School in south Devon and had to jump straight onto the blogeroo while I’m still on a massive freaking high. It turns out I can cook! Actual food! Incr-Edible!
Anyone who knows me well will chuckle at this statement. I’m the Queen of procrastination; I can usually find a zillion excuses not to spend time in the kitchen at home.
